1. Shoot RAW

2. Edit selectively with radial gradients
In the light menu, Claire adds a radial gradient to the centre of her image and increases the exposure in that part of the image, making the most of the evening light. She moves on to the colour menu where she warms up the temperature, moves the tint slider across towards green and decreases the saturation.Â
3. Make some general adjustments
In the optics menu Claire increases edge removal before moving to the effects menu and increasing the dehaze slider to make the image clearer. Back in the light menu, Claire increases the shadows and reduces the whites.
4. Use a radial gradient to create a subtle spotlight
Claire adds a second radial gradient to the figures in the centre of the image. She increases the exposure to highlight the figures and bring out the detail on the pier then increases the shadows to create a greater contrast.
